FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
(actual questions from
people)
Question #1:
What's the advantage of
booking a party versus showing up and letting the kids have fun
without booking a party?
Answer:
All of our Party Packages provide you with the use of our
facility in a separate room (party room). We do not allow
any outside food, drink, or party gifts into our facility unless
a party is booked with our facility. For booked parties,
we allow cakes, cookies, pies, or cupcakes into our facility as
well as gifts. No drinks may be brought into the facility.
All of our packages provide a hostess to assist as needed, such
as requesting an intercom message to notify attendees to come to
the party room, arranging when food/drinks are brought into the
room, requesting additional discounted passes or discounted
tokens. or other requests. The hostess is the contact for
anything and she will work with our staff to assist the party as
best possible. Should anyone choose to not book
a party and not bring gifts or food/drinks into our facility, we
welcome them to enjoy the facility and all the fun they can stand.
Question #2:
How much does it cost to play or ride the amusements at
Excalibur?
Answer: We feel our
customers are smart so we don't try to gimmick you with a price
that doesn't include tax. You want to know how much it
costs, so we provide you with the price that includes tax. We are setup much like an
amusement park where all rides are paid for with tickets.
Each ticket costs $1. Rock Wall Climbing costs 3 tickets.
Mini Golf costs 3 tickets. Laser Tag costs 4 tickets.
A Go-Kart ride costs 4 tickets. In party packages, each
activity is discounted to 3 tickets. During the weekdays
we may have specials that have yet to be determined. For
the Arcade games, they all take tokens that are purchased from a
changer machine. Taxes are already included in these
prices.
Question #3:
Your party packages mention "Activity Passes", what is this?
Answer: An activity pass is valid
for 1 ride on any attraction at Excalibur or may be traded in
for 12 tokens. This is used in
lieu of tickets (see FAQ #2) to simplify the discounted rate for
activities that applies only to booked party packages (up to 25%
discount). Activity passes are available only to booked
parties. You as the party planner may choose to put the
passes and tokens in party bags that are given to the attendees.
Due to the discounted rate, activity passes are valid only for
the date of the party.
Question #4:
Can I book Party Package A and just 1 activity pass for the
birthday child?
Answer: Yes, at any time
during your party you can purchase as many activity passes you
like at the discounted rate of $3 each.
You can purchase as many as you would like and as few as 1.
The passes are only good for the day of the party and may be
used by anyone in your group.
Question #5: I want to book a
party for my 9 year old son. Does one of your Party Packages
offer a Laser Tag party?
Answer: We do not offer a
Lazer Tag party, per se. In planning a party, it may help
to understand our pricing (see FAQ #2) and what an activity pass
is (see FAQ #3). For booked parties, additional activity
passes can be purchased and you could have the party goers use
the passes for additional rounds of Lazer Tag. Each Lazer
Tag round averages 7 1/2 minutes. You'll find most
of them out of breath after 1 game.
Question #6:
When having a party, is my group required to stay together when
riding go-karts or doing other activities?
Answer: Quite simply,
no. If you'd like to arrange for your group to stay
together / play together during rides, discuss this with your
party hostess and she will work with our staff to arrange it.
Question #7: An hour and a half seems a
bit long in a party room. Will the kids be doing something
else or do they just have access to the room in case you need
that much time for presents/cakes/pizza?
Answer: The
kids probably won't stay in the party room that entire time - we
expect that. We simply reserve the room for you and your
guests to have a "landing" spot for an hour and a half.
From our experience, nothing is worse than having a party and
then being rushed out of the room. It's almost as if the
party is over by having to end the party by putting gifts up,
cake up, etc. We wanted to give more time in each room so
that during the party, everyone in the party has a place to go
as sort of "your spot" so to keep the group somewhat together
and continue the party in an atmosphere where everyone is still
together and not thrown out for everyone to go their own way.
Question #8:
Is
there a charge if I invite more than 10 kids?
Answer:
In the past we were setup like other family fun centers, but we
listened to our customers and made a change. There is no
extra charge per attendee. You may invite as many people
as you'd like. Be aware of the room limitations, however.
The party table seats 10-16 kids comfortably depending on age
and size. Though we provide you with 10 drinks and 10 cups
of tokens, you may purchase additional drinks, tokens, pizza,
etc. from your party hostess. |
